A Note from Theatre Victoria’s Executive
Director
Welcome! to Theatre Victoria's 33nd year of
producing shows for Victoria and surrounding communities. We
begin my 4th season as Executive Director, and our 5th year
as the resident company of the Leo J. Welder Center for the
Performing Arts.
We are very excited about our upcoming shows and anticipate
an outstanding season! In late July, we open with Tony Award
winning mega-hit musical, Peter Pan. The southern comedy,
The Dixie Swim Club, opens in September. In November, we return to
the longest running play ever on or off Broadway--a darkly
funny suspenseful whodunit, Perfect Crime. A
musical revue featuring the songs of prolific Broadway and
film composer Stephen Sondheim, Side by Side by
Sondheim, is on the stage in February, and we
close the season in late April with an original one-act play
written by Neil Simon, The Dinner Party.
Theatre Victoria's School of Performing Arts kicks off the
2009-2010 season in June. Triple Threat Theatre Summer Camp
2009 will showcase three unique musical productions: 101 Dalmatians, Aristocats or Godspell. The
Performance Academy will continue in the fall and spring
with acting, singing, and dancing classes for aspiring young
thespians.
We love to share experiences with our audiences in all our
endeavors. In the 2009-2010 season, we are planning a
fund-raising activity featuring an Easter Caribbean cruise
aboard Carnival Cruise Line. Theatre Victoria is changing lives and
this is a not-to-be-missed experience that will forever
change the way you vacation.
